2016:  Featured in 26 matches, starting 19 and playing 1716 minutes … Was named to the NASL Team of the Week three times and earned Play of the Week once … Was one of the Miami FC’s most prolific offensive players, taking a team-high 41 shots, putting 14 on target and scoring seven goals … He also did a grood job putting the Orange and Blue in great scoring position by winning 44 fouls … Completed 650 passes and created 21 scoring chances in 2016 … Did well to track back on defense, winning 25 tackles and 117 duels … Scored his first Miami FC goal in a (Apr. 15) 3-2 loss to Rayo OKC … Scored the only goal in a 1-0 home win over FC Edmonton, the club’s first-ever victory … Netted the game-winner as the Miami FC took down (July 30) Indy Eleven 2-1 at FIU Stadium … Scored the second goal in a (Aug. 8)  4-0 road victory over Minnesota United … Scored the game-winner as the Miami FC came from behind to take down (Aug. 20) Rayo OKC 2-1 on the road, his third consecutive match with a goal … Fired home the first goal of a (Oct. 19) loss to the Armada … Closed out the 2016 season with the game-winner as (Oct. 28) the Miami FC took down FC Edmonton 1-0.

 

Before the Miami FC: The Cuban national has set the NASL a blaze since joining the Miami FC this season … He played 10 seasons for his hometown club Sancti Spiritus and has made 54 appearances for the Cuban national team … Martínez has shined when playing for Cuba, having scored 11 goals … He netted a hat-trick in the 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup.
