LA MIRADA, CA (March 3, 2025) – NISA Nation has a group in Houston that wants to play.
Clubs are signing agreements to play a Spring Season beginning in March, with space for more clubs to join. The South Texas Region will feature as many as eight clubs in the Spring Season.
“There is an interest in NISA Nation in South Texas that has been bubbling for more than two years,” NISA Nation Director Matt Morse said. “There's a lot going on in the Houston market for amateur soccer and we want to bridge the gap for clubs seeking developmental pathways for players. and there's a lot that we can do to help Houston-area clubs find long-term sustainability over the craziness of the tournament-style format or keeping up with the Joneses.”
NISA Nation, a full-year league providing independent clubs a groundbreaking pathway to professional status, launched in 2021 with regions from coast to coast.
The South Texas Region will feature a group of clubs that includes Matias Almeyda Academy, AC Houston Sur and ANSA Lions, with more clubs to be announced in the coming days. Cross-over matches with the North Texas Region will be integrated into the Spring Season schedule.
The South Texas Region schedule will be released in late March. More NISA Nation regions will be announced soon.
