TEMECULA, CA (March 25, 2024) - Two wins in two matches on the weekend.
Las Vegas Legends FC came to Southern California and earned victories over Desert FC and Temecula FC to grab the lead in the NISA Nation Southwest Region.
On Saturday, Cody Shelton scored first for Desert FC but Miguel Pena scored twice and six others added goals in an 8-1 victory at Hovley Soccer Park in Palm Desert.
On Sunday, goals from David Villanueva and Andy Rodriguez cancelled an early goal from Amfed Luquez in a 2-1 win over Temecula FC at Chaparral High School.
Villanueva, who had overtime goals as the club claimed the NISA Nation West Regional last Fall, had goals in both matches for Las Vegas Legends FC (3-0-0 overall), which now holds a three-game advantage in the Southwest Region.
Also on Saturday, Silicon Valley Galaxy traveled to Reno and played to a scoreless draw against Battleborn FC at Spanish Springs High School, and Bay Area United snapped ASC Silicon Valley's winning streak with a 2-1 victory at Sequoia High School.
On Sunday, Diego Arellano scored twice as Club Tepa earned its first three points in NISA Nation with a 5-4 victory over Modesto City FC at Central Catholic High School in Modesto.
