Week 8 Recap: JASA RWC Gets a Breath of Fresh Air

REDWOOD CITY, CA (October 23, 2023) - JASA RWC feels like it can breathe again.

Following three consecutive losses to Bay Area United FC - including one in Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup qualifying - JASA RWC earned a 3-1 victory over its newest rival in a Pacific Region game at Bechet Field at Red Morton Park on Sunday, Oct. 22.

The win jumped JASA RWC (4-1-2) into second place in the Pacific Region above Bay Area United FC (3-1-1) and Windmill City FC (3-1-1).

On Saturday, Justin Wright's brace canceled two goals from Elijah Rice as Lions United FC played to a 2-2 draw against Las Vegas Legends FC at Glendale Sports Park.

Edson Mateo Silva Reyes had two goals as FC Brownsville earned a 2-2 result with AC Houston Sur at Matias Almeyda Training Center in Houston.

Samuel Baraka and Leyvar Guzman had goals as Desert FC scored a 2-0 shutout over Ocelot LA FC at Hovley Soccer Park in Palm Desert.

Ocelot FC beat Olympiacos CA 9-0 at Biola University in La Mirada, and Capo FC edged Ocelot IE FC 4-3 at JSerra Catholic High School in San Juan Capistrano.

Also on Sunday, five different players scored as Battleborn FC beat Modesto City FC 5-1 at Central Catholic High School in Modesto, and FCGS Force topped Lobos FC 7-0 at Rio Hondo College in Whittier.
