Week 5 Recap: Giovanni DeCasso Lifts Ocelot Stockton TLJ FC

MODESTO, CA (October 2, 2023) - 15-year-old Giovanni DeCasso is looking for his shot.

DeCasso showed maturity past his years, scoring four times as Ocelot Stockton TLJ FC went on the road and beat Modesto City FC 4-3 in a Pacific Region game at Central Catholic High School in Modesto on Sunday, Oct. 1.

A sophomore at Pitman High School in Turlock, CA, DeCasso leads a young roster for Ocelot Stockton TLJ FC, which also debuted a 2009 player on Sunday.

On Saturday, three late goals by Javier Ballesteros earned FC Brownsville a comfortable 6-2 victory over Texas Premier SC at Texas Southmost College in Brownsville, TX.

Haiko Hovak netted a brace before halftime, and four other players scored as Las Vegas Legends FC beat Lobos FC 6-0 Cimarron-Memorial High School in Las Vegas, NV.

Moja Hale, who also plays for Los Angeles Force (NISA) and is eligible under NISA Nation rules, scored twice as FCGS Force topped Capo FC 2-0 at Rio Hondo College in Whittier, CA, and Andri Rivas had two goals to defeat FC Dallas Dynamo 5-3 at The Village School in Houston, TX.

On Sunday, Hector Osuna scored twice in each half, and Cody Shelton added a goal and an assist for Desert FC in an 8-1 rout of Olympiacos CA at Orange County Great Park in Irvine, CA.

Roberto Mejia scored an equalizer in the 70th minute as Ocelot LA FC and Ocelot IE FC played to a 1-1 draw at Los Angeles City College Stadium, and Battleborn FC beat JASA RWC Reserves 3-0 at Earl Wooster High School Stadium in Reno, NV.
