Three NISA Nation Clubs Continue Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Qualifying

LA MIRADA (September 28, 2022) – NISA Nation is excited for its member clubs marching o in the qualifying rounds for the 2024 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup (USOC), continuing this weekend.

The three clubs taking to the pitch in Qualifying Round Two are:

  • Bay Area United FC (Oakland, Calif.) – Defeated JASA RWC 6-2 in Round One on Saturday, Sept. 9. The club is 2-1-0 on the NISA Nation Pacific Region fall season.
  • Capo FC (San Juan Capistrano, Calif.) – Defeated Laguna United FC 4-1 in Round One on Sunday, Sept. 10. The club is 2-0-1 on the NISA Nation Southwest Region fall season.
  • Temecula FC (Temecula, Calif.) – Received a bye through Round One. The club is 1-2-0 on the NISA Nation Southwest Region fall season. 

"The three NISA Nation clubs remaining in qualifying have proven to be among the strongest and most sustainable amateur clubs in the country,” NISA Nation Director Matt Morse said. “It's no surprise that these clubs are thriving on the experience that only the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup can provide. We wish them all success this weekend."

The Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup is the oldest ongoing national soccer competition in the United States, dating to 1914.
